The corn is as high as an elephant's eye

(There's a bright golden haze on the... asphalt)
---
My sweet corn 'sploded this weekend. We've had a lot of rain recently, and the corn has grown a good foot in about a week. It's over 7 feet tall now, though that does include the planter. Just look at all them purty tassels. And it's not even the Fourth of July yet.

Oh wow! We were just looking at our corn and it's still ankle high.

I had always heard knee high by 4th of July.
Looking Good! I think I might try corn next year in my Containers.

I love you blog. We're doing something similar, although we're on 1/2 an acre. We put in four square foot gardening plots and several containers, trying to keep it small. It's been an up and down experience but we're learning. We're ready to jump into composting and I was wondering where you got your kitchen composter?

Hiya PJ- sorry I'm lax in checking older posts- usually I don't get many (any?) comments once the posts have moved down the list a bit. I like your blog, too. I'll be sure to add it to my list.

I compost with worms, and my first composter was the Can O' Worms. The best resource I've found for complete home worming supplies is Happy D Ranch. Their worms are amazing, too- fat, healthy little things. I can't recommend Happy D highly enough.

I also have a ComposTumbler, but I'm pretty disappointed with it. I bought their smallest one and it doesn't work very well- scale of pile is just too small to heat up enough. I've heard their biggest one is great, but it's too big for my tiny space.

Go with the worms! Your plants will love you for it.
