New Blog for Aspiring Writers

I girlfriend of mine and I are starting an aspiring writer's group, via Blogger. I think we're calling it "A Piece A Week". The content, genre, and style of the piece you contribute does not matter, as long as you write one piece a week. Other blog members will offer critique in the comments section.
.
Any takers for charter membership?

I would defnitely be interested in this! I am out straight for the next three weeks so won't be able to commit to much in the immediate future, but I'd love to hear more!

Possibly, but I may already be doing enough....but I am tempted. It is a great idea.

So, uh. You were like, serious?

All right, all right. I'll write.

BWAH! Fritz. Um, Yes. Yes I was.

Husband is in, too. But be warned, his items will have a shattered-earth sci-fi, or movie-review, or possibly a Sufi love poem bent. Ok, I made that last one up.

As for the rest of you, I'll keep you abreast.

how longish should these be? I'd be interested, I was part of one before, but it frizzled.

ps. you should have warned me the worms were so addictive.

Madam LBo, the pieces can be any length you wish.

Hmm, why do I get the feeling you'll be writing about the pink kids? They are obsession-forming, indeed.

Hmmmmm...seems innerestink. I'm currently writing garden pieces for two regional magazines around Santa Barbara, plus a bi-weekly column for an on-line outlet here. I have no additional aspirations, given my other distractions (eating, working, walking my dog) but would like to post rough drafts of what I'm working on and get critiques.

Is that kosher? I'd expect this blog idea will evolve as people get rolling.

I say we set up a vast omnipotent bureaucratic ubercommittee to create a labyrinth of arcane rules and deadlines, and appoint them for life.

I'm intrigued but feeling shy. Writing is so personal.

Are you accepting voyeurs?

Wise Guy, I'd be honored. I'd say we need some real, live writers in our midst- you're it. Plus, nobody makes me guffaw quite like you do. Oh, and FYI: You're totally in charge of setting up that omnipotent ubercommittee thingy.

Leslie, I'm sure it'll all be public, so lurkers are welcome, too. But now that you've dangled that nugget, I REALLY want to read whatever it is you write about.
