Two humans, two rabbits, 40,000 worms, and a really big deck.
Sweeet, congratulations! I, too, prefer to go without a pre-laid plan, just see what looks good, what has the best Qi.
Thanks for the link to your market site. It sounds like a great place to shop. And shopping without a predetermined list is the best way to shop in a market - that's how we always start out in our little village market and let the produce suggest what we will eat.
For anyone who loves Farmer's Markets, (and I know you do) Have you all heard of HR 875? I just read about it. If you haven't heard of it, check out this link:http://cryptogon.com/?p=7362It will essentially crush small farmers and Farmers Markets across the country. Of course it is being supported by companies like Monsanto. Check it out, and write to your representatives and tell them to vote NO. Its really unbelievable. I am not trying to come off like a ranting lunatic, but people need to riot about this.
Mariah, you're definitely not a raving lunatic. I attended the Michigan Organic Food and Farming Assn last weekend, and that bill was all the buzz. Farmers and eaters are equally freaked out. Best we can do is call our reps in congress and create a buzz- and I wrote to Rachel Maddow asking her to tease the mess out. Surely her wonky brain can make sense of the nonsensical verbiage.
What a handsome couple you are!I just received an email concerning this bill and I was wondering if it was an over-statement of the situation but now, I think not. Please let us know what your mentor has to say.
We have a really great market in my city, but that write up made me want to visit yours. Husbandly One is going to Detroit in May (I have to stay home this time) and I will definitely encourage him to check it out.
Great story. I never imagined that Detroit would have such a great farmers market, especially with your cold winters. I wish we had something like that here.
Detroit aint all bad! Nice story .. I tell you .. Oprah will soon come calling!ps - yours might be bigger but our Seattle Pike Place Market is older!
That is so unbelievably awesome! I wish our FM was even half that size, okay, even a quarter. (ours is very, very, very tiny...sigh.) I was trying to find email but I must be blind. Wanted to share this link of a short docu on the changing landscape of Detroit. If you've posted this before and I missed it my bad! I find it fascinating!http://vimeo.com/2371774
