Bunday Monday

(*Zzzzzzzz-zzz*-- Hey, gimme a raisin, s'long as yer here)
---
I'm getting in on this here Bunday Munday action. I don't take nearly enough pictures of my house rabbits.
...
This is my husband's desk chair. Rather, it was my husband's desk chair. Now it's a bunchair. Every day between about 11:00 am and 4:00 pm is Chair Time for Bunnies. If my husband happens to be using this chair on the weekend at said time, he usually gets several dozen swift nose-pokes in his ankles, sometimes punctuated with a nip on his socks or pants (mainly from Cecilia the bulldozer bun). Even if he slides in a different chair so he can use his computer, the velvety pokes of anger persist.
...
*Sigh*... Life with feral housebuns. They are about as affectionate to the hoo-mans in the house as aquarium fish would be.
...
Really, I just put up with them for the magical vegetable-growing abilities contained in their poop. And to witness the occasional binky.

I've been informed by the buns that everything in the house is owned by the buns... I'd have more willpower if they just were not so darn cute!

hahaha... you love them for more than that... they have this ability to wrap themselves around your heart... well... errr.. maybe that's just a fur ball.

yeah welcome to Bunday Mondays!!! Someone was going thru my camera the other day and started looking at me strangely. I had to try to explain the 145 rabbit pictures... again, in avoidance of becoming the crazy cat lady, all signs are pointing to "crazy rabbit lady".

aw, I love rabbits :) how do you keep them from gnawing all your electrical cords? That's the problem we had with ours back when we had rabbits in the house.

Robbyn, it's hard to stop buns from eating your electrical cords. We bought cord covers and that made a big difference; even still, many have been re-wrapped with electrical tape. We learned over time that a few phonebooks and cardboard boxes under the sofa distract them from the cords, baseboards and furniture legs. Now they mainly go for the paper/ cardboard.

For saying less than overjoyed words about your bunnies you must now memorize your plant list and recite it 20 times from your patio - yelling it loudly, at noon, to all who pass.

Did I say make a list? Hmmm .. good idea though! Very impressive ...

We ate our last home-grown potato yesterday .. there are still a few, but getting soft and all sprouts .. into the dirt pile with them .. they will reproduce by about late August!

Rabbit Saint, you said, "Geez Louise, kid, you would grow too much of anything!" So I wanted to know just how much was too much and made a complete list.

I added sweet corn over the weekend- just 8 stalks- bought them at the farmer's market on Saturday. They are in a really big container...

I love my buns, I do. But I had hoped for cuddle buns. They cuddle with each other, but not with us humans.

Cute rabbits. Yeas ago I had a house trained giant lop. Electric cords, and soft things, and pointsettias which made for red pee, (yea poisonous but apprearently not too) were certainly a hazard

I was looking at the cute rabbits at the local farm feed store but wasn't sure of thier use (uh, the idea of meat being out). Have you blogged on their gardening abilities? - I'll have to look.

Hi Verde, love your on-line name. I should write more about rabbit poop. Mainly, I've blogged about worm poop, and how the worms eat the rabbit poop.

I have a miniature living machine in my condo-- the rabbits eat my garden scraps, their poop gets fed to the worms, and the worms' poop feeds my garden- and on it goes. Some, though not many, kitchen gardeners keep rabbits just for their poop. It's astonishing fertilizer, but the worms make it even better. It is processed quickly by the worms and they add amazing properties to it- pH balance, water retention, trace minerals, calcium.
